Daveena
Indian Classical Kathak Dance
Daveena is a Mauritian born Kathak dancer. Daveena has been learning Indian classical dance since the age of 8 from Mahatma Gandhi Institute in Mauritius. After moving to Melbourne, in 2016, she started her training in Kathak from Mohini Bordawekar. Since then, Daveena has successfully continued her progression with advanced Kathak under the tutelage of Mohini.
During her 5 years with Mohini, Daveena has been part of regular performances with Manmohini Dance School for their concerts and other programs.
One of her most notable performances has been on the stage of the Diwali Show at Federation Square when she collaborated with Beyond Blue in raising awareness for mental health. Daveena has also shared the stage with the renowned Kathak performer Sharvari Jamenis during her tour in Melbourne. She has also performed for Celebrate India on various occasions.
After contemplating teaching Kathak for years, Daveena finally decided to start and is now teaching the beginners level at Point Cook and Cranbourne.
Daveena has the vision of sharing her passion for Kathak with as many people as possible here in Australia and internationally to ensure that this art form is passed on from the current to future generations.
Vrinda
Indian Classical Kathak Dance
Miss Vrinda Naicker has been training for Indian classical Kathak dance style under Mrs Mohini Joshi Bordawekar for past 8 years .
She is currently teaching Kathak at one of the branches of Manmohini Indian Dance School and has been one of the lead dancers at all the concerts by the dance school .
She is one of those skilled performers who is trained in more than one classical dance forms and has been learning Bharatnatyam for past more than 12 years from Smt . Shanti Ramakrishnan .
Vrinda has performed Kathak dance at various prestigious events in Victoria including - Indian Film Festival , White Night Festival 2015 , Victorian festival of Lights at Fed Square ,AFL Multicultural Day at MCG,
Collaboration with 4 other Indian Classical dance styles (Prakruti festival 2017, Vishwa festival 2016 for Federation of Indian Music and Dance Victoria) Performed as the Inaugural presentation at the Rang performance by Internationally well-known Kathak Gurus Nirupama and Rajendra ji , 5th March 2017

Nirali
Indian Classical Kathak Dance
Nirali's kathak journey: Nirali's Kathak journey started at the age of 7. The early years of her training involved learning pure Jaipur gharana style and later on she started learning a mix of Jaipur and Lakhnow gharana. She started teaching Kathak for Manmohini Indian dance school in 2017. She has taught passionately to beginner kids and adults baches at Manmohini Indian dance school . After moving to Sydney she has successfully conducted workshops. She absolutely love teaching as much as learning Kathak.
Meeting Mohini didi: Nirali met Mohini didi in June 2016 . Mohini changed the course of her dance journey in the most positive way possible. Nirali struggled to find her dance guru over the years until she met Mohini didi. Mohini is the true reflection of a guru who has dedicated her life to dance and her students. It has been 5 years since Nirali started learning Kathak from her and there is still so much that she looks forward to learn from Mohini !
